Which devices do I need?
Energy Intelligence is an add-on for your Shelly energy meter. You need a Shelly Pro 3EM 120A v2, Shelly Pro EM-50, Shelly EM Gen3 or Shelly EM Gen4 installed on your home's main supply and set as the home's main electrometer in the Shelly Smart Control app.
Is it available in my country?
Energy Intelligence is launching in Italy first. It is available for Shelly accounts whose Home location in the Shelly Smart Control app is set to Italy.
How does AI appliance detection work?
It analyses the whole-home consumption measured by your main Shelly meter and, together with the details you give about your home and appliances, learns the energy patterns of individual appliances over time. The more accurate your input, the better your results.
How accurate are the appliance insights and costs?
Appliance breakdowns and costs are estimates, and they get better over time as more data is collected. Costs are based on the electricity tariff you set in the app, so the more accurate the details you provide, the better the results.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new subscription, monthly or yearly, starts with a free trial, and you are not charged until it ends. The offer is available only if you haven't tried Energy Intelligence before.
How much does it cost and how is it billed?
Choose €1.99 per month or €19.99 per year, VAT included. Your receipts are available in the Billing section of the app.
Does one subscription cover only one home?
Yes. Each subscription covers one home with its separate Shelly main meter. Every additional home needs its own subscription.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, at any time from the Shelly Smart Control app or directly through PayPal. You keep access until the end of the current billing period. If you cancel during the free trial, it stays active until the trial ends.
Does it work if I already have Shelly Premium?
Yes. Energy Intelligence and Shelly Premium are separate subscriptions. You can use either one on its own, or both on the same account.
How much history can I see?
Up to 365 days of energy history.
Who provides the AI analysis?
Energy Intelligence is offered by Shelly in partnership with Voltaware, a specialist in appliance-level energy analysis. Shelly handles your subscription, billing and support.
Is my data safe?
Only the energy readings from your Shelly EM are used for the analysis, linked to a pseudonymous device identifier. Your name, email and account details are never shared, and all data is processed and hosted in Europe.
