Solis is a local-first home climate and environmental system built with around 50 Shelly devices, designed to keep the home comfortable and balanced across different rooms, seasons, and weather conditions. It connects blinds, humidity control, ventilation, sensing, and monitoring into one resilient ecosystem that works locally, without depending on cloud automation. Using Shelly scripting and autonomous device-level control, Solis reduces overheating, glare, humidity issues, and manual adjustments while keeping the home stable in the background.

Shelly WS90 Weather Station — Full HA Integration with ESPHome Display

This project turns the Shelly WS90 Weather Station into a complete smart home weather system, fully integrated with Home Assistant through BTHome and ESPHome. It collects real-time outdoor weather data, enriches it with custom sensors such as Beaufort scale, wind chill, heat index, UV category, and rain accumulation, and presents everything in a polished Home Assistant dashboard. A SenseCAP Indicator D1 touchscreen shows live weather data indoors while acting as a Bluetooth proxy for extended range.

This project uses a single Shelly Plus RGBW PM to turn a dual-white LED strip into a smart tunable-white light that follows the natural movement of the sun. Everything runs directly on the device — no hub, cloud, Home Assistant, or MQTT — using a custom mJS script to calculate sunrise, sunset, daylight changes, and the correct Kelvin values throughout the day. Brightness stays fully user-controlled while colour temperature adjusts automatically, creating a natural lighting experience for a wooden cabin setup.

This project uses Shelly devices, Home Assistant, Solcast AI forecasts, and a wood chip heating system to intelligently manage three boilers and a whirlpool with around 40 kWh of daily energy demand. By prioritizing PV surplus, avoiding simultaneous high loads, and preventing double heating when the wood chip system is active, it reduces grid usage and improves efficiency. The result is a production-ready hybrid energy management system that increased PV self-consumption from ~30% to 70% and saves an estimated €3,270 per year.

Zero-Conflict Smart Control for Unattended Machines Using Shelly

This project modernizes several coin-based laundromats in the Madrid area by connecting traditional laundry machines to a digital payment and control system using Shelly devices. After an initial proof of concept with a Shelly 1, the setup evolved into a full web-based platform where customer payments trigger machine start cycles automatically through MQTT commands and Shelly pulse outputs. The result is a scalable, unattended laundromat system that reduces on-site intervention, improves operational control, and synchronizes physical machine states with digital records.

A cloud dashboard provides real-time monitoring of pumps, tank levels, flow rate, and device status — turning a traditional water setup into a resilient IoT-based water management platform.

The setup can run fully locally, with optional Home Assistant, Raspberry Pi, Volumio, or Shelly Wall Display integrations for more advanced audio control.

This project uses Shelly devices to automate pool control, workshop heating, and e-bike charging in a fully local setup. The pool pump runs on a schedule and switches on outside those hours when there is enough PV surplus, while the workshop heater starts and stops based on room temperature and real operating status. The e-bike charger is monitored by a Shelly Plug, which automatically switches off after charging completes or after a maximum runtime of four hours for added safety.

This project uses Shelly devices to automate a workshop in an off-grid setup, reducing manual work and unnecessary power consumption. A door sensor mounted on a battery-powered chop saw triggers a Shelly smart plug to switch the shop vac on during cutting and keep it running briefly afterward to clear sawdust. Shelly is also used for motion-based lighting control and energy monitoring, helping the workshop run more efficiently where every watt matters.
