Is it possible to use the device without a hub?

Yes, Shelly devices (except for Wave devices) operate independently without the need for a hub. Snow accumuted on top and covered light sensor. Heater melts snow only on ultrasonic wind sensor, but not on the top of wheater station.

The Weatherstation is really good, but integration to shelly control could be enhanced

The Weatherstation is really good. The presentation in the shelly control app is a good start but far below what would be possible. Let's hope shelly is going to enhance this a little bit. Integration with home assistant is fine. Some less important attribute missing.

Quite a disappointment to be honest!

Quite a disappointment to be honest. Hardly any information available. I couldn't get it to work at first. Then eventually it did connect with a different bluetooth device than the BLU Gateway that I bought especially for this device. (another €18 wasted). And when it finally appeared in my Home Assistant, it had many sensors missing. The rain sensor is just a cumulative sensor, so you have to write your own rain intensity and daily rainfall sensor. Shelly, this is not a product to be proud of! What happened, this is not you!

Ecowitt WS90 – Early Impressions

After initial testing, the Ecowitt WS90 seems to perform well. However, it has not yet been tested in extreme conditions, and I haven’t correlated its readings with a nearby official weather station. Its usefulness really shines when paired with a Gen 3 or higher Bluetooth gateway, as this allows access to virtual components.

In the cloudy GUI, I miss having a direct wind display. While it is possible to show wind data via virtual components, it’s not as elegant or straightforward as a native display.
