It works without a bypass when the load is sufficient, and the included Shelly Bypass for 1L/2L* ensures stable operation with low-wattage lights.
Once installed, you can manage and automate lighting easily through the Shelly Smart Control app or your preferred smart home platform.
Customized Lighting for Every Moment
With Shelly 2L Gen4 installed behind the switch, each lighting source in the room can be controlled separately. Ceiling lights and accent lighting work together while maintaining independent control of each lighting source for different moments of the day. In the Shelly Smart Control app, scenes and schedules can be created to match everyday activities, letting the atmosphere shift naturally from bright and functional to soft and relaxing without changing existing switches.
Smart Scheduling & Sun Syncing
With Shelly 2L Gen4 installed, lighting can switch automatically according to a defined daily schedule or local sunrise and sunset times. As daylight changes throughout the year, both channels adapt to keep spaces comfortably lit only when needed. All timings and conditions are configured in the Shelly Smart Control app, where each channel can be scheduled together or managed separately depending on the space.
Smart Bathroom Automation
Shelly 2L Gen4 works well in bathrooms with double wall switches controlling lights and ventilation. Both can remain available for manual use while also becoming part of automated scenarios. Timers for the fan, scheduled lighting, and combined scenes can be set through the Shelly Smart Control app, creating a more comfortable and efficient daily experience.
