Two Shelly Group Devices Earn “Works with Apple Home” Certification via Matter Protocol

Becoming among the first in the industry with dual Matter certification from both Apple and Samsung

Two Shelly Group products – Shelly Plug S MTR Gen 3 and Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen 3 – have officially received “Works with Apple Home” certification. This confirms that the devices are fully compatible with Apple’s ecosystem and meet the high standards of the Matter protocol for security, interoperability, and user experience.

Shelly Plug S MTR Gen 3 and Shelly Outdoor Plug S Gen 3 are now the first Shelly devices authorized to carry this certification badge. They are also already certified under the Samsung WWST (Works with SmartThings) program for Matter, making them among the first in the industry to receive dual Matter certification from two major smart home platforms – Apple and Samsung.

Apple’s certification validates full functionality of these smart devices using the Matter protocol. Both devices have passed the official certification process of the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) and meet Apple’s strict requirements, enabling seamless integration with the Apple Home app and Siri on compatible Apple devices.

At the same time, Shelly confirms that all upcoming fourth generation (Gen4) devices launching later this year will come with Matter support built-in.

The Matter protocol, now adopted by major device manufacturers and mobile OS providers, is designed to unify communication between smart devices from different brands. It ensures high-level security, easier setup, lower integration thresholds, and a more streamlined user experience.

Shelly’s current efforts are part of the company’s strategic commitment to expand compatibility, meet the latest certification standards, and deliver smart home devices that are future-ready.

The company will continue collaborating with standardization organizations and key platform providers to ensure its products meet the highest expectations in terms of quality, security, and interoperability.
